Service Owner volunteer role

We are currently recruiting for a Service Owner to work within the Delivery Team of a social enterprise, which offers services (social, digital, research etc) to local communities and SMEs, particularly those run by (or serving) the following groups:

  1. Black ethnic minorities
  2. Women
  3. Young people (16-24 years old)
  4. Migrant families
  5. Rural communities
  6. Groups suffering from digital exclusion

As a Service Owner, you will play a key role in helping to shape and deliver our exciting pipeline of services. As part of a growing team, you will oversee cross-functional teams, including research, communications, and digital teams, owning the end-to-end
development lifecycle, to deliver exceptional products and services to our clients.


We are looking for an individual who is passionate, hands-on and eager to learn. The role is likely to involve working on multiple exciting projects so the individual should be able to multitask.

Roles and responsibilities


● Manage and consult both internal and external stakeholders (clients) to define the service vision, strategy ensuring a smooth and efficient lifecycle.

● Conduct market research and analysis to identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive threats.
● Leading procurement activity
● Developing metrics and produce reports on performance and assets
● Develop and manage the service backlog and prioritise features and user stories based on business value, customer feedback, and technical feasibility.
● Work closely in collaboration with cross-functional teams, to ensure that requirements are understood, and to provide ongoing guidance and support throughout the development process. This includes capturing, documenting and communicating requirements.
● Support user acquisition and engagement through effective service positioning, messaging, and feature development.
● Business process mapping (e.g. flow charts etc) to help document and communicate key business processes.

Experience


Any prior experience as a Service Owner is desirable but not essential. Experience in the fields of research, communications and/or marketing would be advantageous.

Skills and competencies


● Proven track record of delivering successful services in a fast-paced
environment.
● Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
● Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum for Trello.
● Familiarity with project management tools, such as Jira.
